Bastien Boutonnet is a PhD student in Bangor University.
He is originally from Montpellier in the south of France, where he
was introduced to photography by David Ranc in the summer of 2006.
His photography has featured on many occasions in The Courrier,
Newcastle University student-led newspaper. He intends to carry out
several photographic projects this semester with series featuring
"Boys & Gummy Bears" and portraits of strangers in the streets of Liverpool.
With pronounced tastes in minimalism, music, design, typography,
climbing and language, his work in psychology, linguistics and photography
is an attempt at uniting all these interests.
Bastien has done quite a bit of singing through his teens, and used
to be the lead singer of a punk-rock and heavy-metal band in Montpellier.
